What is a closet, really, but a catalogue of the different personas we have auditioned and discarded? Hanging there in our closets are reminders, both good and bad, of who we are, who we’ve been, and who we’ve hoped to be

Closet Revamps

While I endeavor to be flexible to a client's needs and tailor my services accordingly, whenever I meet a new client, I like to start in the closet with a "Closet Revamp." I usually work with the client present and together we go through every single item in the closet, separating the good from the bad and the ugly (very much like TV's "What Not to Wear," but I'm not quite as brutal as Stacy and Clinton!) We make separate piles for consigning, donating, needs repair/alterations, etc.  Throughout this process, I offer style tips and advice, as a closet inventory allows me to see what the client has been wearing, weed out anything he/she perhaps shouldn't be wearing, and observe any ruts as and missing wardrobe staples.  We'll then figure out what the client should be wearing (factoring in age, lifestyle, shape), interpreting his/her own personal style in a new and improved way both for weekday and weekend. Hopefully we'll find new outfit combinations from the client's closet along the way.

For many clients, after we purge and organize, we then "shop the closet."  The client will often take notes or sometimes we take pictures as I suggest numerous new outfits.  We'll end up with a list of needs for the next shopping trip (with which I can assist, of course).

Overall, no matter what way we go about it, I want our time together to be a truly educational experience, teaching clients how to shop for themselves and look for the right items. I have a non-intimidating, "real world" approach that seems to make the experience a fun one for clients.

Personal Shopping

Hate shopping? No time? Just want a fresh pair of eyes? Time with professional shopper can help an individual find the right styles for them, saving time, headache and money (I love a bargain!) While beginning with a Closet Revamp is recommended for the "full experience," some clients instead choose to just have a brief meeting or phone conversation ahead of time so I can ask questions about the style, needs, sizing, etc.  As for the shopping, usually I prefer to take time to shop on my own a bit before the client joins me, so I can have some items already pulled - this method seems to be the most efficient, allowing the client to get the most "bang for their buck." Then we will meet and go from place to place, where I will have things on hold. My favorite comment to hear a client say is, "I would've never even pulled this off the rack but I love it!"

Business Seminars

A fun office morale building event, a fashion seminar (from 1 hour to a full day) will teach employees how to spice up their work wardrobe while staying within the acceptable dress code. Whether during a breakfast meeting, lunch meeting, or full auditorium setting, topics covered include professional dress vs. business casual, professional image vs. personal style, office etiquette, and tips & tricks for dressing for success. If you chose, I can bring outfit examples or even dress a few employees as models for a small fashion show

It is both delusional and stupid to think that clothes don’t really matter and we should all wear whatever we want. Most people don’t take clothing seriously enough, but whether we should or not, clothes do talk to us and we make decisions based on people’s appearances.

Fashion Show Production

Let me bring my experience from producing professional quality runway shows for Parisian, Belk, Saks Fifth Avenue, Gus Mayer and others to your event. Groups such as The Humane Society, Junior League and Realtor's Association have used runway fashion shows as the "entertainment" part of their event. I can handle all elements from the clothes and models, to the stage, lighting and music. In addition, I can tie-in the show to your organization in a number of ways. (Like having adoptable pets strut the runway in Humane Society shows...although the dogs really didn't appreciate the use of the word "catwalk.")

Everyday is a fashion show and the world is your runway.
